Airlines association IATA is testing blockchain for payments via its billing system that connects airlines and ticket agents, saying it could be cheaper than payment solutions offered by PayPal (PYPL.O).
Samsung is considering using blockchain for its vast global supply network in order to track its products and thereby cutting shipping costs by 20%, says Song Kwang-woo – Blockchain Chief at Samsung SDS Co.

IBM is launching their new IBM Blockchain Starter Plan for smaller scale businesses and extending their opportunities across sectors. The multinational computing company is exploring its “healthcare related blockchain opportunities” with its newest partner the Center of Disease Control (CDC). The combination of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) could bring “significant improvements to a healthcare sector plagued by interoperability problems and big data analytics shortfalls,” says IBM Watson Health Chief Science Officer Shahram Ebadollahi.
It seems today that the first companies to integrate blockchain solutions are expecting to differentiate themselves and shacking the industry through innovative business models.
